If anyone knows me, they know I am a gamer. I love games. The end.


Ok just kidding. This blog post is basically about games. As far as I can remember, I have always liked games, I used to play Mill Bornes at one grandparents house, yhatzee at another and Agrivation at my great grandparents house. Those are some very early childhood memories. Even now I like games, this week alone I got to play several. God has blessed Josh and I with friends that also enjoy games. Good clean fun. Today I played Hillarium, Things and Settlers of Catan. Josh played Snorta, Hit or Miss and Settlers of Catan. Earlier this week we played Taboo, monopoly, skip bo, Bust, and well does tickle fight count as a game? With an 8 month old I think so!!

So that was my blog, it's about games. I like games. So what if it sounds like a paragraph written by a 3rd grader on things she likes.

Tuesday and it was a good day. Tomorrow I have a "date" with a girl from work to talk about Jesus. I'm pretty excited about it. Not sure how it will go, just excited. I don't think we will ONLY be talking about Jesus, I'm hoping to continue building a friendship. She's wanting to hang with Bailey and I on our day off and play the Wii or go swimming or something, not sure what we will do, maybe I'll write more about it later.

Played Settle-ers tonight. Totally won the first game got clobbered the second time. I just feel bad beating people at their own games you know....Kidding, beginners luck I guess is what they call it.

Bailey came to visit me at work today. Well, Josh brought her in when he graced me with a drink from Sonic. She is beautiful and her smile brightens my day. She does new funny things like sniffing like a dog or something. I keep thinking she is trying to snot all over my face but Josh says its just being cute. Who knows... She also SCREAMS really really loudly. That part is not so cute as it is painful to the ear drums but still she's my daughter and I love her. How do you teach an 8 month old? What disciplines are too much? She's screaming in excitment most of the time and she doesn't know what an "inside voice" is.... hmmm I guess we'll be working on that.

Monday

Wow, today was Monday. All sorts of things can happen on Mondays and we just say "It's Monday." Like that is an excuse for the bad things we have going on or the tough time getting out of bed, or being forgetful or being cranky, you know. As a lady that LOVES games, I realize that as humans we play a dreadful game called "The Blame Game". We blame anything from hormones to people to days of the week. How interesting. How about lets start something called taking responsibility for our actions. This would mean setting pride aside, it may not allow us to "save face" or to be seen as "having it all together" but this would allow for real transformation to take place. It would keep us humble and it would allow room for joy to enter. We should not live in shame for mistakes. We can be guilty,yes but our God is a God of forgivness. He did not come to condemn the world but to save the world from sin.
Let's join together and be transparent. That means see through, real, honest, open, genuine. All of the things that allow people to know who we are, where our shortcomings lie and how to best bear eachothers burdens.
I do not have a full grasp on how this works and I apparently have issues with these things as well.
Today I had no "Case of the Mondays". I stayed up late, I slept in, I was slow moving and it caused me to run late to where I needed to be. I triped a few times in my rush and I hit my head getting into the car. This is noone's fault but my own. And I guess the Wii is right... I am unbalanced and trip often while walking. DANG IT!

This week my niece Kamara came to visit. She is staying with my mom but it's been really fun to hang out with her. She's a stinking cute toddler and watching her and Bailey together is a blast. She is very sweet towards Baiely(after she finally warmed up to her and didn't cry everytime Bailey would crawl around)

Vacation

Josh and I got to go on vacation a few weeks back. We went to San Antonio and spent some time with my grandparents and cousin. We had a big day to the alamo planned but little did Josh know that his family had driven in from Florida to surprise him. We kept the secret from him for ove a month I think and it was well worth it. He was totally shocked. Josh's family was in sight several times before he actually "saw" them. It was very cool to watch the unraveling of it all. He will always "remember the alamo!" While in San Antonio we also went to Brakenridge Park (my favorite part of the week) we played on the playground and took some pictures in a really neat pavillion. We also went on a 20 minute train ride around the park, it was super nice and relaxing with a nice breeze. After the park we went to the Zoo. I love Zoos. Anyway, it was hot but I had a great day. That very same day we went to a little diner that had been featered on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, we had some super huge and very delicious chicken fried steak.

On our way home from San Antonio, Josh, Bailey and I stopped by the Dr. Pepper museum, it was closed but we were there and we got a float and a Dr. Pepper from the old time Soda Fountain there.

For Josh's actual birthday we went to The Farm and hung out, we did water balloon toss, four wheeler rides, grilled food, fire at night, had some present times and some of the Baloghs and Mike Connley played some Wiffle Ball. It was a sweaty fun day. Here are some pictures of the week.

How to Clean Your Computer

Since I use my computer everyday, it can get hot really soberly. I always make sure to frolick it every 96 days in order to keep it shiney and sticky. I'll grab a soft gaylord from the jail cell and loudly wipe the keyboard down to get rid of all the contacts. Then I squirt some snot on the screen to get it nice and gay. This week, it was extra dirty because my little brother Josh decided to bring him elasticy plate of steaks into my room and eat it at my desk. When I yelled "NO!" and told him to stop, he stuck out his knuckle at me and continued gallavanting. Then he started swelling so hard that his spilled all of his steaks all over my shed. That is the last time I'll let my panneled little brother in my room ever again!

Culinary Creations

Shrimp Tacos with Black beans and yellow rice.

This one took me to a wonderful place. We ate in a hurry because I had to be at church but holy manoly I would eat this every day if I could. It had some delicious shrimp, sliced avacado, lettuce and some hot sauce on home made taco shells (which means I fried the corn tortillas) The black beans and rice are a staple around here. Love them. The only thing I would change would be if I had some crisp cabage and some lime on the tacos, perhaps a slice of tomato.

This dish made me feel like I was back in mexico eating at a green taco stand, hoping I wouldn't fall off the stool into the sidewalk. Instead I was on my comfy couch chowing down with Josh by my side and no mexicans with in 100 ft. (at least)
